Monthly Wrap Up - May
Can you guys believe we're almost halfway through 2018 already? I really can't believe it! Time has flown by, but it has honestly been season of overall growth and new beginnings, especially during the month of May. How fitting?
1. I am grateful for the gift of writing - Writing has helped me to express myself and touch the lives of others in ways that I never imagined
2. I am grateful for the people who wholeheartedly support me - Every time I talk about support I have to talk about my mom because she is a RIDER! She goes hard for everything that I do.
3. I am grateful for the grace and mercy that God has extended to me this month - I am not perfect, and although this month went smoothly, there are still some things I could have done better. I need to better press into God and talk to Him before I make decisions about His purpose for my life. But overall, I am just happy for the grace to continue walking in my purpose.
May was a month of reflection and during this period I was shown a lot of areas in my life where I needed to improve - the most important area being my communication. For as long as I can remember I have had the hardest time communicating my feelings in tough situations, or holding things in and just shutting down.
One of the books that I'm currently reading is Unglued by Lysa Terkeurst. It is honestly one of the best books that I've ever read because I feel like she is speaking to me directly (I feel like this reading almost all of her books!). It has helped me to see the harm that "stuffing" my feelings has and how much healthier it is to actively express your emotions in a positive way. I highly recommend it!
I also launched my first journal on June 1st, but because I did so much of the heavy lifting in May, it feels really good to be able to reflect on that now, and to think about what I will do differently next time. If you're interested in grabbing the journal, click the image below!
