Okay, now that we have all of that out of the way, let’s jump right into today’s Heart Check.

Level Up

On June 1st, I released the GROW Devotional Journal to the public. I was on cloud nine! I was actually a self-published author, I had a book on Amazon, and people were actually buying it. I honestly didn’t expect all of the attention that it was getting, but I was grateful and hopeful about the change it would ignite in other people’s lives.

After I received so much love and support for the devotional journal, I was on fire and ready for God to expand my territory and take me to new heights. So all of June and July I was praying that exact prayer. What I didn’t realize was that when you pray for expansion, you’re also praying for God to PREPARE you for it.

Expansion without preparation leads to uselessness.

God cannot use you in the next dimension when you are still operating in old grace, old favor, and old faith. The faith you had in your previous season isn’t going to be enough in your new season. You have to LEVEL UP! If you want to GO to the next level you have to be ready to GROW out of your current one. This means outgrowing relationships, jobs, places, etc.

For the past two weeks I have been in such a funk. I felt POWERLESS (which we will be talking about soon). I didn’t understand what God was doing in my life and I honestly felt so far away from Him. I know now that I had leveled up and I was no longer a MASTER in this new level. I had returned to a BEGINNER and I had to learn how to operate on this level. I needed to be tested so that I could have an increase of FAITH, an increase of DETERMINATION, an increase of STRENGTH, and more.

Old things can’t go with you to new levels and you can’t be who you USED to be and who God CALLED you to be at the same time. Elevation requires separation and often times it’s not easy or comfortable, but it is necessary. So if you’ve asked God to take you to a new level, I encourage you to make sure that you’re doing the work to prepare for it.

Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You today thanking You for the trials and the testing of my faith. In your word it says that we should count it all joy when we fall into various trials, because trials and test produce patience, and patience produces endurance. I pray for an increase, oh God. Not just an increase in finances, wealth, or status, but an increase in faith, determination, strength, power, and authority. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!
