Pushback in Your Purpose
Often times we believe that once we know what we've been called to do and once we're planted in our purpose, things are smooth sailing. At least, that's what I thought. I thought that since God had given me this vision, He would give me everything I needed to manifest it right away. Little did I know, that was the furthest from the truth. The truth is that with your purpose comes some pushback. There are two types of pushback - pushback from God and pushback from the enemy. It's important for you to be able to decipher which is which, because you don't want to be experiencing some pushback from God and get angry because you think it's pushback from the enemy. You don't want to get discouraged and give up because you have to deal with a little pushback.
Pushback from God
Pushback from God is designed to make you stronger. It's designed to test your faith and to produce endurance. James 1:2-4 says, "Consider it a sheer gift, my friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way."
There are things that God's going to have to take you through in order for you to get to your destiny. Your journey is not always going to be beautiful. He's going to have to take you through sowing seasons in order to get to the harvest. He's going to take you through training seasons before you can even get in the race. A lot of us will never manifest the greatness that God placed inside of us because we aren't willing to go through some things first. We want to figure out how to avoid the problems, instead of using them as stepping stones. A lot of people want the good without the bad - you want the fame without the sleepless nights, you want the recognition without putting in the work.
If you're going to walk in your purpose, you better be ready to experience some pushback from God.
Pushback from the Enemy
God isn't the only person who is going to send some things your way when you make the decision to walk in your purpose. The enemy is going to do everything He can to stop you from making a difference in the lives around you. The enemy knows that he cannot kill what's on the inside of you, but he can kill your confidence, he can make you feel inadequate, and he can place thoughts of self doubt in your mind.
John 10:10 says, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy." Pushback from the enemy is designed to either steal, kill, or destroy your purpose. Pushback from the enemy is designed to keep you from who or what you've been called to. This type of pushback is damaging to your purpose, while pushback from God is encouraging.
Pushback from God proves that you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength, while pushback from Satan tries to get you to believe that you are not capable of walking in your purpose. You know that it's pushback from God when it proves everything He said in His word to be true. If it proves that you are more than a conqueror, it was pushback from God. If it proves that you are the head and not the tail, above and never beneath then it's pushback from God.
Purpose is going to come with some pushback. As long as you know if it was sent by God or by Satan, you are able to deal with the pushback accordingly.
Have you ever dealt with pushback in your purpose? Are you able to identify whether or not it was from God or from the enemy?
